Event Description

Jom Kayuh Bandar Utama Damansara is the first ever community ride organized jointly by Persatuan Penduduk BU2 Bandar Utama, Petaling Jaya (“PPBU2”) together with other residents’ associations within Bandar Utama. It is a community cycling event with a distance of 20 KM and is not a racing event. This community ride is organized to encourage both residents and other interested parties to maintain a healthy lifestyle through cycling and increase neighbourly social interaction and goodwill. It also allows participants to cycle and explore the vibrant, integrated residential and commercial township of Bandar Utama in Petaling Jaya together with their family and friends. 

Participants can use road bike, mountain bike or folding bike with brakes and it is a compulsory to wear a helmet.

Jom Kayuh Bandar Utama Damansara is being organised by the team who won the annual Petaling Jaya Sustainable Community Award on 15 December 2017. This event is one of the proposals put forward by PPBU2 which embraces the various sustainable concepts in achieving the goals of Sustainable Petaling Jaya 2030.

This event is not a race and there is no prize money being made available. 

However, there will be lucky draw prizes to be won.

1. Riders must ensure their bike has brakes that’s working and wear helmet during riding
2. Riders must follow all traffic laws and police or marshal instruction during cycling 
3. The ride is open to 18 years and above while children under 18 years old must be accompanied by adult
4. After registration, there will be no fee refund for any rider who does not in due course take part in the event, for any reason whatsoever. Registration is strictly non-transferable
5. The Organiser reserves the right to modify or substitute any of these rules and regulations (“R&R”) and/or Terms & Conditions (“T&C”) from time to time as it deems fit. If there is ambiguity in any of these provisions, the Organiser shall be the sole authority to interpret and in so doing, it may take into account the interests of all affected riders. Any amendments to these R&R and/or T&Cs will be updated on the event Facebook page
6. The Organiser reserves the right to cancel the event at any time without prior notice to riders, in which case the Organiser will make the effort to inform riders prior to the date of the event. If the event has to be cancelled, there shall be no refund of fees paid. The Organiser shall not be liable for any consequential loss or inconvenience caused
7. The Organiser reserves the right, at any time and without prior notice to riders, to amend the event cycling routes as it deems fit for the safety of the riders and / or to prevent any potential hazards in the running of the event. In such cases, every effort will be made to inform riders prior to the date of the event. The Organiser shall not be liable for any loss or inconvenience consequential to such changes
8. All participants are responsible for their own safety during the event.
9. To the greatest extent permitted by the law, the Organiser shall not be held liable for any loss, damage, personal injury or death in connection with the event
10. The Organiser reserves the right to use any photographs, motion pictures, images, recordings, and or any other record of the event and its Participants for any commercial advertising and other promotional purposes linked to the event or any future events
