Panelists' Profiles
Dato' Sulaiman Mohd Tahir
Dato’ Sulaiman is the Group Chief Executive Officer of AMMB Holdings Berhad (“AMMB”) and Chief Executive Officer of AmBank (M) Berhad (“AmBank”), the commercial banking arm of AmBank Group, positions he has held since November 2015.
He holds a Bachelor of Business in Accountancy from RMIT University in Australia. He has a wealth of experience backed by 30 years of managing and spearheading growth in consumer banking, as well as in commercial and corporate banking in Malaysia.
Prior to joining AmBank Group, he has held many prominent positions at one of the largest banks in Malaysia before his appointment as Chief Executive Officer/ Executive Director of the Bank.
He currently sits on the Board of several other subsidiaries of AMMB, namely AmGeneral Holdings Berhad, AmMetLife Insurance Berhad, AmMetLife Takaful Berhad and AMAB Holdings Sdn Bhd.
Gokhan Ogut
Gokhan was appointed the Chief Executive Officer of Maxis effective 1 May 2019. Gokhan joined Maxis in September 2018 as the Chief Operating Officer (COO) to build a strong focus on the core operations of offering the best products and services in an ever increasing competitive marketplace.
Prior to Maxis, Gokhan ran his own consultancy firm offering management and marketing consultancy services in Europe and the Middle East out of Istanbul, Turkey. From 2009 to 2016, he was with Vodafone Turkey, where he held senior roles - his first position as Chief Marketing Officer, rising to become the Chief Consumer Business Officer in 2011 and eventually the Chief Executive Officer of the company between 2013 and 2016.
Before Vodafone, Gokhan was in senior marketing as well as general management roles with a number of large and well-known companies like Danone and Procter & Gamble, holding positions that had domestic as well as global responsibilities in Turkey, US and France.
Gokhan has an Industrial Engineering degree from the Bogazici University of Turkey, as well as an MBA from the University of Illinois at Chicago.
Datuk Kamal Khalid
Datuk Kamal Khalid is the Group Managing Director of Media Prima Berhad since 2 August 2017.
He has been with Media Prima since May 2009 and had held various positions including Chief Executive Officer, Television Networks, Chief Operating Officer, Group Shared Services and Chief Operating Officer, Business Development and International.
Prior to that, he served as Head of the Communications Unit in the Prime Minister’s Office for 6 years. He had also worked in the financial services sector in banking and private equity financing and at the Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange (now Bursa Malaysia).
Currently, Datuk Kamal sits as a member in various organisations, such as a Council member of the Communications and Multimedia Content Forum of Malaysia, a board member of Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE) and also an Advisory Board member of the Asian Television Awards since 2016.
He received his secondary education in MRSM Muar, Johor and graduated with a Bachelor of Laws (with Honors) Degree from the University of Nottingham, England. He was selected to become Malaysia’s Eisenhower Fellow for 2005.
Leow Wee Jonn
Leow Wee Jonn started his career as a management consultant where he was able to familiarise himself with handling company due diligence, merger and acquisitions, business turnarounds, profit improvement and growth strategies. It wasn’t till 2012 where he had the opportunity to explore e-commerce as a 25-year old co-founder and managing director of Zalora Malaysia. Under his supervision, ZALORA Malaysia became a leading e-commerce company in Malaysia with brand presence, site traffic and revenue growing the fastest among all of Zalora’s regional operations.
In September 2013, he moved on to become the CEO of Photobook Worldwide, the largest online photo product company in South East Asia where he currently heads the commercial side of the business. He has successfully grown Photobook Worldwide more than five times and continues to spearhead several growth initiatives.

Jansen Loke
Jansen Loke, Co-founder of BuildEasy is a serial entrepreneur who has achieved outstanding sales targets wherever he goes. In his previous role, he has led his property team to a record breaking 150million GDV sales within a month for a single property project.
Together with Yong Meng at BuildEasy, Jansen is focused on bringing PropEasy (property marketing for property developers) to great heights, expanding to 4 countries in 4 months with a team size of 40. Mike Chu
Mike Chu is the proud founder of PTT Outdoor, the Grand Champion of AmBank BizRACE Season 2 . As an avid outdoor sportsperson, he found it extremely frustrating as outdoor gears would usually cost so much in the market, thus, with the intention to solve that problem, a simple idea came to mind, and that is when he started PTT Outdoor, an affordable alternative for outdoor gears such as running, hiking and cycling.
To date, PTT Outdoor has grown to more than 200,000 strong followers in their social media channel and has maintained a 4.9 average star rating out of almost 2700 reviews from their customer. He believes that PTT Outdoor is built to be more than just a business, it’s a community of outdoorians coming together with the aim of making the world a better place.
Their latest project, the #ileavenotrace movement, aims to donate part of their revenue from sales of the product range to tree replanting effort in Sabah. Their target? 30,000 trees within 3 years.
