RULES & REGULATIONS OF SHINE HEALTH RUN 2018
TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Event Rules & Guidelines: The following event rules and guidelines are intended to help produce an event, to ensure the safety of all participants, to meet the requirements of local government permits. The organizer retains the right to refuse entry to anyone declaring false information on their application, not making the required payment, or otherwise failing to meet the entry requirements. In any and all circumstances the organizer retains the right to refuse entry to any person.
The organizer reserves the right to modify or substitute any of these Terms and Conditions from time to time as they deem fit. If there is ambiguity in any of these provisions, the organizer shall be the authority to interpret and in so doing, they will take into account the interest of all the affected Participants.
RACE PARTICIPATION INFORMATION:
1. ELIGIBILITY
1.1 Shine Health Run 2019 is open for registration to all persons aged between 5- 70 years old on event day. Child entrants aged 5- 12 years must be entered by a parent/guardian and must be accompanied at all times during the event by a parent/guardian.
1.2 Each participant must agree to the disclaimer and these terms and conditions before participating in the event. All participants take part at their own risk and a disclaimer waiving all claims against the organizer and any party acting on its behalf must be completed by all entrants. Registrants must be capable of completing the full distance, start line to finish line.
1.3 By taking part, all participants confirm that they agree to allow their personal information and any footage or photographs taken during their participation in Shine Health Run 2018 to be used for data research, marketing and/or any other purposes in relation to publicise any Shine Health Run event. Participant run number bibs are specific personal identifiers and cannot be exchanged with or sold to any other person.
1.4 ONE (1) registered entry admits ONE (1) person ONLY for categories namely fun run, open run (men and women) categories. ONE (1) group registration entry admits FIVE (5) persons ONLY.
1.5 All payment of entry fees are non-refundable and not permitted to be deferred towards a future event. Strictly no entry transfer, exchanges or cancellations allowed once sold.
1.6 Closing date of registration is on 20th October 2019 or upon reaching a maximum limited number of participants.

1.7 The sum of RM 10.00 for every ticket purchase shall be contributed towards the charitable organizations as illustrated in the flyer.
1.8 Participants would only be entitled to the ‘Finisher’s Medal’ upon completing the race course within the time stipulated as follows:
a) 5KM category- 2 hour
b) 10KM categories- 3 hours
2. ATTIRE
2.1 Participants must follow instructions as given from all event officials including race staff, volunteers, medical personnel, security officers and city officials throughout the duration of the event.
2.2 All participants are encouraged to wear the Shine Health Run T-Shirt provided in the race pack.
2.3 Every participant shall be provided with an event bib number, which shall be conspicuously worn on the front during the event. The event bib number is to be worn as issued. No participant shall be permitted to participate in the event without the appropriate bib number.
3. RACE ENTRY PACK COLLECTION
3.1 The race entry pack collection date shall be notified through social media, shine.com.my website and/or sms blasting in a timely manner as determined by the organizer.
3.2 T-shirt sizes are available on a ‘first come -first serve’ basis. Size changes or any modifications to the t-shirt are not permitted.
3.3 Collecting the race pack on someone’s behalf is allowed by presenting the confirmation slip and a photocopy of the participant’s identity card/passport.
4. REGISTRATION & FLAG OFF
4.1 Participants are required to complete their registration details with accurate, current and true information. No persons are authorized to be on the course unless they are registered participants.
4.2 Inaccurate and incomplete information may be grounds for disqualification or barring from the event with no issuance of a refund.
4.3 Participants shall assemble for the big warm up 15 minutes prior to the run starting. Participants shall then proceed to the start line. All participants must be positioned behind the starting line when starting.
4.4 Any participant who commences the run before the actual flag-off of his/her registered race category shall be immediately disqualified.
4.5 Pets, bikes, skateboards, scooters, rip sticks, rollerblades including shoes with attachable rollers or similar items are prohibited on the race course other than official race and medical vehicles.
4.6 The organizer shall not be liable or responsible for any loss and/or damage, personal or otherwise, to any belongings and items deposited at the event storage facility.
5. ROUTE / COURSE MONITORING
5.1 The organizer reserves the right to amend the event race routes for the safety of participants and /or to prevent any potential hazards in the organizing of the event, at any time without prior notice to the participant.
5.2 In such cases, every effort will be made to inform the participant prior to the date of the event.
5.3 The organizer shall not be liable for any loss or inconvenience causes due to such changes.
5.4 Participants shall adhere to the entire rules, regulation and directive given by the organizer and its appointed and designated official crew, secretariat, race marshal, medic officers while on/within the event site at all times.
5.5 To ensure smooth traffic and crowd management, participants are to strictly abide by the rules, regulations and directive given by the race marshal and medic crew during the race.
5.6 Any decision made by the race marshals and/or medic officers are indisputable and absolute.
5.7 Any participant who refuses to obey the directions of the event official, city official or course marshal, or who conducts himself/herself in an unsportsmanlike manner, or who is offensive by action or language to officials, volunteers, participants or spectators may be disqualified by the event and future participation at the discretion of event officials.
5.8 Any participant who has been found by a course marshal, event official or surveillance equipment to have gained an unfair advantage by intentionally shortening the route of the event (“cutting the course”) shall be immediately disqualified from the event and banned from future participation in any [Shine] event at the discretion of event officials.
5.9 Any person who participates in the event without a current official event bib number not officially assigned to him/her is subject to removal and disqualification from future [Shine Health Run] events.
6. PARTICIPANT SAFETY / Medical indemnity
6.1 Participant are highly encouraged to go for a medical examination and/or consult their medical practitioner prior to the event registration and before the actual event. Participants must ensure they are medically fit and shall participate at their own risk.
6.2 The organizer shall not be liable or held responsible for any accidents, death, injuries or mishaps that may occur to the participant before, during or after the event. However reasonable precautions shall be taken to ensure the safety of all participants during the race.
6.3 Medical personnel authorised by the event to do so may examine any participant who appears in distress. If in the sole opinion of authorised medical personnel it is in the best interest of the participant’s health and welfare upon receiving medical attention/care, medical personnel may remove the participant from the event. Participants must retire from the race immediately if ordered to do so by a member of the event’s official staff (organizer, referee and/or security officer), official medical staff, or any governmental authority, including fire and police officers. Participants are responsible and assume liability for any and all medical expenses incurred as a result of training for and/or participation in the event, including but not limited to ambulance transport, hospital stays, physician and pharmaceutical goods and services.
6.4 Participants are responsible for their recognition and understanding of event signage, symbols and colour relating to participant maps, facilities and direction.
7. AMENDMENTS / RESERVATIONS / ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS / CANCELLATION
7.1 Event organizer reserves the right, to modify, supplement or waive all or part of the event rules. Participants shall be bound by any modification or supplement of the event rules published prior to the event. Failure to follow these event rules, as can be amended, will result in immediate disqualification.
7.2 The organizer reserves the right to cancel the event at any time without prior notice to the participant, in which case the organizer will make efforts to inform the participant prior to the date of the event.
7.3 If the event has to be cancelled, there shall be no refund of fees paid unless the organizer deems it fit to give a refund.
7.4 The organizer shall not be held liable for any loss or inconvenience caused.
7.5 The organizer reserves the right to cancel and/or add any race categories.
7.6 Event officials reserve the right to delay, cancel, alter the route or suspend the event due to inclement weather or incidents beyond the control of the organizers (i.e. Acts of God) which render it impossible or unsafe to hold the event. No refund will be issued in these circumstances.
7.7 Once registration has been duly processed, there will be no fee refund for participant who do not eventually participant in the event for any reason.
8. PARTICIPATION INFORMATION
8.1 By signing up for the Shine Health Run 2019, the participants agree to grant the organizer permission to collect, analyses, or distribute any personal information regarding the event as they deem fit, including any race statistics and demographic information to be used for any future planning, data research, marketing and /or any other purposes.
8.2 The organizers reserve the right to use any photographs, video, sound recordings, personal statements/ interviews or any other media from the event as they see fit, including in future marketing and commercial advertising.
DISCLAIMER
In order to run in the Shine Health Run 2019, runners must agree the following disclaimer:
“In completing this entry I declare that I, or anyone that I am paying for, will not compete in the event unless medically fit to do so and that, in any event, we will compete at my/our own risk. I accept that the organisers will not be liable for any loss, damage, action, claim, costs or expenses which may arise in consequence of my/our participation of the event. I/We understand that entry fees are non-refundable. I also hereby give my permission to pass my/our details to my chosen charity and to use my/our name, quotes, video footage, and photographic likeness for marketing and promotional purposes. I also agree to the full Terms and Conditions as displayed on the event website.”
