Elevate Events is proud to present The Yoga Workshop with Marysia Do this 2020. The Queen of Handstands aka Marysia is back in Malaysia to turn YOU upside down!

About Marysia Do

Known as “The Queen of Handstands” throughout Southeast Asia, the Middle East and Australia, Marysia Do is now bringing her learnings from years of living and teaching abroad back to the US. She has a global reputation as an encyclopedic teacher of teachers, focusing not just on developing the physical practice but on meditation and empowerment as well. In addition to teaching yoga and movement, Marysia has her masters in Traditional Chinese Medicine and is a licensed acupuncturist and herbalist.

Her teaching style is fun, unconventional, safe and effective in its power to magnify your capabilities both inside and outside the classroom. Her classes are perfect for students wanting to strengthen their practice and teachers wanting to expand their confidence.

• March 7:

Basics Done Better, 10am-12pm (2 hours)

“Perfect alignment” is when your actions are in line with your intentions. What most yogis don’t realize is that the physical alignments in yoga postures vary depending on the desired effect of the pose and with each individual’s unique body. Beginners and advanced practitioners will benefit from the heightened awareness that this nuts and bolts style workshop offers. Greater strength and increased flexibility are hidden in the nuances. Many of us have habits that take us away from our goals. In this class, we will shed light on and then shift those habits to replace them with purposeful action.

Intro to Arm Balances, 1-3pm (2 hours)

In class, Marysia will lead you though a sequence to increase both your mobility and strength which will give you more power to move into and out of various arm balances. Through the use of traditional, innovative and individualized techniques you will gain accessibility into postures you may never have thought possible. By precisely explaining the connections between the preparatory postures and the peak poses, you will become greatly empowered though your own understanding of the postures’ mechanics. With responsible boldness you will tap into great potential.

• March 8:

Intro to Inversions, 10am-12pm (2 hours)

Although inversions can seem intimidating, the alignment cues for practicing them are actually quite accessible. The work is stabilizing the mind and connecting the mind to the body while being in a bit of a precarious position. To make inversions more accessible, Marysia will have you practice the alignment in standing poses and other postures that are more familiar. Once your body becomes well acquainted with the appropriate muscular contractions, we then take it upside down into a flying flow.  During the flow, analysis is set aside and we practice trusting ourselves.  Work hard, play hard, rest.

Tricky Transitions, 1-3pm (2 hours)

Learn all the tricks to make flowing from one cool pose to another possible. Often, Marysia will only need to look at your practice for a moment to figure out simple but greatly effective changes which you can make to conquer new poses and then flow with them. In class, Marysia will pull out all the stops and teach you her many innovative tricks that will take your practice to the next level. You can expect to work on Arm Balances, Inversions and Back Bends.

**Special Notes**
