Race Information

HULU SELANGOR ULTRA TRAIL (HSUT 2020) presents three trail races of 50km Ultra Trail, 25km SCOTT Vertical Challenge and 5km hiking that traverse the mountains of the beautiful Hulu Selangor. The host district for HSUT 2020 is Majlis Daerah Hulu Selangor (MDHS). Hulu Selangor being one of the most favorite nature destination is located in the northeastern part of Selangor. The Selangor River sources from this area, hence giving the district's name. The ultra trail race course traverse sections of Bukit Batu Pahat, Kampung Gerachi Jaya, Semangkok Pass, Kampung Pertak, Bukit Kutu peak, Ruins Bukit Kutu, Kampung Buluh Telor, Ampang Pecah and as well as Lata Medang, which form part of the iconic national heritage site and offer one of the most impressive waterfalls of Malaysia. All race categories consist of technical terrain with steep ascents and descents. The challenging race course designed for both novice runners and more seasoned trail runners who crave for a challenging multi-element race course with crazy elevation. Participants are reminded that HSUT 2020 & SCOTT Vertical Challenge races are genuine mountain excursions and that the necessary care and respect must be taken when running in the mountains and Orang Asli villages.

Venue
Kuala Kubu Bharu (KKB) is the district capital of Hulu Selangor district. In the late 19th century, the original mining town of Kuala Kubu suffered a series of disastrous floods. A new town was then later planned around year 1925 using the garden-city model: a compact town center surrounded by parkland. Remaining 1920s shop houses give the town a pleasant, antique feel. KKB also stands affectionately for ‘Kiri Kanan Bukit’, ‘Hills Left and Right’. The place has classic feng shui: a mountain range rising to the east and rivers flowing to the west. KKB is located on the foothill of the famous Titiwangsa Mountain Range and is well known as one of the vital water catchment area for the state of Selangor. Road biking, hiking, white-water rafting and wading to waterfalls draw scores of weekenders to Kuala Kubu Bharu, 70km north of Kuala Lumpur. The river-splashed trail to Chiling Waterfalls is the prime attraction. This town has become a modest hub for adventure experience.
