The Malaysia Brass Outreach Project (MBOP) is organising “A Kontrabass Day” which includes a masterclass and recital by Nattawut Sungkasaro (Principal Double Bass of Royal Bangkok Symphony Orchestra). The MBOP was established in the year 2019 with the aim to cultivate the level of brass playing throughout Malaysia. Recently, we expanded our international artists from other instruments to be a part of our outreach project. With the motto – Music for All. 

“A Kontrabass Day” will be promoted among music lovers at all levels especially for double bass players. Participants can indulge themselves in the event through joining the masterclasses and watching the recital by Principal Double Bass of Royal Bangkok Symphony Orchestra - Nattawut Sungkasaro, Solo Soprano of Thailand Philharmonic Orchestra – Duangamorn Fu, Collaborative Pianist from Thailand – Thanasita Fu and Malaysia – Iau Jo Yee, and our local pride – The Kontrabass Collective. The objective of organising this event is to promote double bass ensemble and music education in Malaysia. It is also to provide a platform for music lovers to share thoughts and gain musical knowledge from artists and performers.
