In music, a motif IPA: is a short musical phrase, a salient recurring figure, musical fragment or succession of notes that has some special importance in or is characteristic of a composition: "The motive is the smallest structural unit possessing thematic identity".
Anton Webern, an Austrian composer whose music was among the most radical of its milieu, defines a motif as, "the smallest independent particle in a musical idea".
REXKL’s Downtown Motif features a curated mix of upcoming as well as well-established artists who may have variously different sounds and play opposing genres, but at their core we believe that they all share the same motif. Arts & culture has always been at the forefront of our mission and vision here at REXKL, and we are proud to present our very first live music event that is organised solely by us.
This line-up was designed to take you on a journey of many genres, with each act seamlessly transitioning into the other, and all the while there is a pattern that repeats within each act. From R&B to pop, from idea to idea, from theory to theory. Let REXKL take you on a trip you won’t forget.
