THEME: Operationalizing WATER TRANSFORMATION - New Strategies and Actions


The Specialised Conference will focus on some of the priority areas on what it will take to make water transformation operational soonest possible. The water problems we face are obvious, and the solutions are there available. What’s missing is the real execution i.e. Operationalizing Water Transformation. Hence the stakeholders and participants are invited to discuss and share experiences on ways we can help turn policies and concepts to implementable actions in the holistic transformation of our water sector.


The main conference objectives

  • To review and share current experiences and key learning points on the journey of water restructuring and regulatory framework in Malaysia which form a part of Malaysia’s water transformation;
  • To bring together government and stakeholders expertise and experiences and identify cross-sector priority issues on the broader holistic water challenges towards an integrated water transformation planning and sustainable management of our water resources and services; and
  • To stimulate an acceleration of the transformation action plans of reform through dialogue and proposal for a Win-Win practical and workable plan for execution.

1. The registration fee is inclusive of the event proceedings, materials, certificate of attendance, and refreshments (where applicable).

2. The membership fee is only for active MWA Members (no arrears and settled fees in 2024). If Non-Members or inactive MWA Members purchase tickets at the MWA Member price, they will incur a penalty of RM200 per ticket.

3. For daily pass tickets, conference bags are not available. For on-site or walk-in tickets, conference bags are provided upon availability.

4. To secure entrance, you must receive payment prior to the date. Upon successful payment, we will issue a receipt. If you do not receive the receipt within 7 working days of the payment date, please contact our Secretariat at 03-6201 2250. The registration fee payment may incur additional interest and/or processing charges from your bank, for which the organiser will not bear responsibility.

5. Subject to full payment of the registration fees, substitutions are acceptable if you notify the organizer in writing by 1 July 2024 (two weeks before the conference). An administrative fee of RM100.00 will apply to substitution requests received after this date. We will handle all cancellation requests on a discretionary basis.

6. All cancellation requests shall adhere to the following timeline and terms:

(i) Any requests for registration cancellation must be submitted in writing to the secretariat at [email protected] 

(ii) We will refund 50% of the registration fee if we receive the cancellation request on or before 30 June 2024.

(iii) We will not issue a refund if we receive the cancellation request after 30 June 2024, or if there is no show.

(iv) Within one month of the conference, we will process all refund requests made before 30 June 2024 and impose penalty charges of RM500.00.

(v) From all conference registration refunds, we will deduct any bank service charges, convenience fees, administration fees, or taxes.

7. Exhibition Visitor Pass: The exhibition hall will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on 16-17 July 2024. The exhibition hall is the sole point of access for visitors, and it does not offer lunch or tea-breaks.

8. Upon purchasing this ticket, you, the participant, hereby consent to MWA keeping your details for the use of future marketing activities carried out by MWA and third-party organisations and partners.

9. Copyright and intellectual property: Without prior written consent, MWA prohibits any redistribution or reproduction of part or all of the contents in any form in connection with this event.
