Important Notice
Participants are advised to read the following Important Notice, Terms & Conditions and Official Rules carefully before the race.
Participants are advised to solicit medical advice from doctor if they are in doubt of their health condition prior to taking part in the race.
All entry fees are non-refundable and the Organizer retains the right to refuse entry to anyone declaring false information on their entry form, not making the required payment, or otherwise failing to meet the stated entry requirements.
Registration
- Registration can be made through https://www.ticket2u.com.my
- Successful participants MUST collect their race bib number, race shirt, and souvenirs (“Race Kit”) (in person or via an authorized person) by presenting the copy of Official Receipt and identity card (as stated in the official receipt).
Pictures and Documentation
The Organizer shall be entitled to use pictures and documentation of the Participants taken during the event for purposes related with the event or any future events.
Amendments / Reservations / Acknowledgment
- Organizer reserves the right to modify, supplement or waive all or part of the event rules.
- Failure to follow these event rules, as may be amended, will result in immediate disqualification.
Terms & Conditions
- The Watt a Run: Walk the Talk event (“the Event”) is a charity run organised by Heriot-Watt University Malaysia and its affiliates (collectively referred to as “the Organisers”) which all the terms and conditions of Events are as per stated herein. The affiliates herein shall includes the Event co-organiser, the Heriot-Watt University Malaysia’s Student Association, sponsors, partners, volunteers and any entity or person directly involved in the Event on behalf of Heriot-Watt University Malaysia.
- By signing up for and providing any information, personal or otherwise, in order to participate in Event(s) and/or any other activities relating to the Event, the Participant is deemed to have given explicit permission for the Organisers to collect, analyse, collate, share, disclose to third parties and/or otherwise use without any liability to the Participant, any personal information relating to that Participant as may in its sole discretion deem fit. The Organisers declare by virtue of being the Event owner, they can use services of third parties:
- For promotional, marketing and/or administrative purposes, current or future;
- For all purposes as required by law, including without limitation court proceedings, criminal investigations or prosecutions or where so ordered by any competent authority;
3. For the purpose of completing the entry form, the Participants agree to:
- Provide true, accurate, current and complete information contained in any form (“the Data”);
- Maintain the security of the Participant’s password and identification; and
- Maintain and promptly update the Data to keep it true, accurate, current and complete. The Organisers may contact the Participants from time to time by email and/or mobile device. Any notice sent to the email address and mobile device registered with the Organiser shall be deemed as received by the Participants. If the Participants provide any information that is untrue, inaccurate, not current or incomplete, or the Organisers has reasonable grounds to suspect that such information is untrue, inaccurate, not current or incomplete, the Organiser may suspend or terminate the Participant's registration for the Event.
4. Upon completion of this entry form, the Participants are deemed to be agreeing to abide this terms and conditions and also the Privacy Policy/Notice.
- The Organisers reserve their rights to amend or substitute any of the terms and conditions herein and shall be updated on the website accordingly.
- Entry forms will only be deemed confirmed upon receipt of full paymentof entry fee.
- The Organisers reservetheir right to close entriesbefore the deadlinewithout any noticeonce the race quota is full.
- Once registration has been duly processed, there will be strictly no refunds after payment is made, for any reason whatsoever. There will be strictly no refunds for Participants who do not eventually take part in the Event for whatever reason.
- Should the Event be cancelled due to circumstances beyond the control of the Organisers (including heavy rain, thunder stormor disaster, public rally) or postponed to another date due to the same,no refund of the entry fee will be made and the Organisers shall have no further responsibility and/or liability thereafter.
5. The Organisers reserve the right to amend the Event agenda and/or race routes as the Organisers deems fit for the safety of the Participants and/or to prevent any potential hazards in the running of the Event, at any time. In such cases, any changes will be updated in the official ticketing platform and the Participants are required to check regularly on the updates (insert link[SM2]). The Organisers shall not be held liable for any loss or inconvenience caused due to such changes.
6. While every reasonable precaution will be taken by the Organisers to ensure the safety of Participants, the Participants take part solely at their own risk and the Organisers will not be responsible or held liable for any injury, damage, contraction of communicable disease, death or other loss howsoever arising from training for, before, during, or after participation in Event. Participants are strongly encouraged to go for a medical examination and/or consult their medical practitioner prior to registration and before the Event. Participants must accept and understand that he/she must have the physical fitness suitable for the category that he/she registered for, by the day of the Event.
7 .Any Participant that is required to stop their run by any member of the medical staff, security officers, officials, route marshals, and/or race director, must immediately do so and obey to the direction given.
8. The Organisers reserves the right to use any photographs (including those of Participants), recordings, or any other media records of the Event including any any other activities associated with the Event, for any legitimate purpose including commercial advertising, publicity purpose and distribution to any sponsors.
9. Only one (1) entry of category is allowed for each Participant. Change of category is not allowed.
- Participants are strictly prohibited from swapping, transferring or offering to sell, swap or transfer his/her race entry or allowing any other person to wear his/her running bib, except through the official registration transfer platform (the “Marketplace”) provided by the Organisers.
- Participants below the age of 18 are required to obtain parental/guardian consent and complete the relevant waiver form as deemed necessary by the Organisers.
- The Organisers will not be held responsible for any issues relating to parking at the Event’s venue. Participants are advised to follow the instructions given by traffic personnel for proper parking. The Organisers will not be held responsible due to losses suffered in the event of break-ins or vandalism to the Participant’s vehicle.
- The running pack must be collected at Decathlon Puchong, Unit No. MA11, First Floor, Lotus's Puchong Lot 148 & 149, Pusat Bandar Puchong, Jalan Bandar 3, Off, Jalan Puchong, 47100 Puchong, Selangor.
Participant Waiver
- Waiver and Release of Liability Form
In consideration of my participation in the Watt a Run: Walk the Talk charity run (“the Event”), I acknowledge and agree to the following:
1. Assumption of Risk:I fully understand that participation in the Event Name involves inherent risks and dangers, including, but not limited to, physical injury, illness, and even death. I accept full responsibility for any risks, whether known or unknown, that may arise from my participation.
2. Waiver of Liability:
To the fullest extent permitted by Malaysian law, I hereby waive, release, and discharge Heriot-Watt University Malaysia, its directors, officers, employees, sponsors, agents, volunteers, co-organiser and affiliates (collectively, the "Released Parties") from any and all liability, claims, demands, or actions, arising out of any injuries, damages, or losses I may sustain, including death, as a result of my participation in the Event, whether caused by the negligence of the Released Parties or otherwise.
3. Indemnity:
I agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Released Parties from any claims, damages, costs, or liabilities (including legal fees) arising from or related to my participation in the event, including any claims brought by third parties.
4. Medical Fitness and Insurance:
I confirm that I am physically fit and capable of participating in the Event and that I have sought medical advice if necessary. I also understand that it is my responsibility to obtain personal accident insurance to cover any risk of injury.
5. Governing Law:
This Waiver and Release of Liability shall be governed by the laws of Malaysia, and I agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Malaysian courts.
By accepting this form, I confirm that I have read and fully understand the terms of this waiver, and I agree to these terms voluntarily. that I agree to these terms voluntarily and at my free will.
