FlunoDuo is a duo of professional musicians from Kuala Lumpur
Xue Fen, a Malaysian-born flautist
Upon graduation with first-class honours from Tunghai University at Taiwan, she continues to obtain her master's degree at Sydney Conservatorium of Music, Australia. She had participated in masterclasses led by renowned flautists, including András Adorján, Ignacio De Nicolas, Andrew Nicholson, Dakota Martin and more. As an orchestra player, Xue Fen regularly performs with various orchestras, including the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra & the Malaysian National Symphony Orchestra etc. She is also active as a chamber player, soloist, and has won multiple competition awards. Xue Fen is a current part-time lecturer at University College Fairview, while also offering private flute lessons.
Jingyi, a Malaysian-born pianist
After graduating from the Malaysian Institute of Arts with the Most Outstanding Student Award in 2012, she pursued her Bachelor's Degree in Music at Tunghai University, Taiwan. Driven by her thirst for knowledge and artistic growth, Jingyi embarked on a journey to Paris, where she studied piano solo and chamber music attentively under pianist Jean-Louis Caillard. Her dedication to the piano reveals her versatility as she engages in various roles as a pianist other than a soloist, but also as chamber musician, ballet accompanist and rehearsal pianist. Jingyi had studied with acclaimed pianists including Tan Lee Ean, Nina Patarcec, and Armen Babhakhanian. Jingyi is also a holder of the esteemed FTCL (piano performance) from Trinity College London. Aside from performing, Jingyi serves as a piano tutor at the Malaysian Institute of Arts while also maintaining a nurturing home studio.
