Lamarsa Coffee is proud to present the Malaysian leg of the Slayer Espresso Rally 2025 in collaboration with Coffeeboy Club along with our venue sponsor, the Campus Ampang! Harness the power of the revolutionary Slayer Steam Single and show off your barista skills for a sponsored trip to World of Coffee 2025 in Jakarta, Indonesia by none other than Slayer.

The winner will be representing Malaysia in the Slayer Espresso Rally finals in World of Coffee 2025 to win the grand prize—a Slayer Steam Single!

Competition Summary:

• ●  20 competitors; 5 rounds, 1 wildcard opportunity.

• ●  First round: Latte Art Smackdown (CARD)

  • ○  2 competitors per round, pick 1 random latte art card out of 6, both competitors pour the same pattern as close to identical on the card

  • ○  Judges point at pattern they think match the card most closely. Winner goes through, knock out gets knocked out (but has a chance for the wildcard later on!)

• ●  Second round: Workflow

  • ○  Barista and Slayer Espresso machine have to work as one

  • ○  Scoring structure: Drinks as yes/no point, additional points awarded for

    fastest with all drinks. Top 5 competitors go through.

  • ○  The drink menu has 5 various beverage styles, 4 minutes allowed per

    competitor.

• ●  Third round: Dialing in

  • ○  Scoring structure: Using WBC scoresheet as a guide. Leaderboard where top 3 scorers go through

  • ○  Same coffee, same machine, 5 competitors; skill test based on dial in skills.

  • ○  Machines/grinders to all be re-set to a starting spec

  • ○  No grind changes –using machine factors & ratio to manipulate flavour

  • ○  5 mins to dial in, 3 mins to present to judges with flavournotes

• ●  Fourth round: Free Pour (with 1 Wildcard to join) (15 minutes)

  • ○  Free pour Latte Art smackdown. 2 competitors, 2 machines, winner goes

    through to the final; loser knocked out.

  • ○  Judges will point to their favourable latte art

• ●  Final round: Free Pour (10 minutes)

  • ○  Free pour Latte Art smackdown.

  • ○  Judges will point to the latte art of the Winner.

    The winner will be representing Malaysia in the Slayer Espresso Rally finals in World of Coffee 2025 Jakarta to win the grand prize—a Slayer Steam Single! Flight and accommodation will be sponsored by Slayer Espresso to the winner of Malaysian Round.

- Ticket purchases are non-refundable.
- The competition is open to all individual legal residents of Malaysia only over the age of 18.
- Each participant will receive one (1) goodie event bag and will be disbursed on the same day before the event starts.
- Participants are allowed to bring their own milk pitchers for free pour latte art rounds.
- Please take care of your personal belongings. Organisers will not be held responsible for any missing or damaged items.
- Milk of choice for this competition is Oatmilk, sponsored by Oatside.
- Coffee Beans will be provided accordingly by Coffeeboy Club based on the competition rounds.
