Award-winning dancer, choreographer and director Akram Khan teams up with celebrated sculptor Anish Kapoor and composer Nitin Sawhney to revive his first full-length production, Kaash (Hindi word for ‘if only’). In this masterpiece, Khan continues his quest to build bridges between the world of contemporary dance and the Indian classical dance form Kathak through his cast of five strong international performers.
Akram Khan is one of the most celebrated and respected dance artists today with a reputation that has been built on the success of imaginative and highly accessible productions. The original Kaashtour performed 133 shows in 65 venues across 23 countries while its revival premiered in Grenoble France. The George Town Festival performance of Kaash will be the company’s first in Southeast Asia.
