2016 Instructor Development Update - Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia will be organized at Shah Indah Village Hotel - No. 3 & 5 Lorong Sultan Petaling Jaya, Kuala Lumpur on 1st August 2016 (Monday).

Attention PADI Course Directors and IDC Staff Instructors:

After the success of the recent Instructor Development Updates with a combination of dry and wet sessions, we have scheduled an additional Instructor Development Update in Asia for 2016. For Course Directors with Active status expiring 30 June 2016, attendance at this IDU will refresh your status until 30 June 2018. For IDC-SIs who attend the live IDU, 1 credit towards MI and 3 credits towards CDTC will be earned. 

Update Topics include:

Confined Water and Open Water Skills Conduct at the IE and in the real world; will touch on the “Why, When, Where, What” of both instructor development and evaluation.

Evaluation Workshops will feature Knowledge Development and Confined Water Presentations to ensure your evaluation skills are aligned with the PADI Examiners and your peers. Plus we will review skills that have raised questions at recent IE’s.

New Products focus will be on recently released digital products and revisions to PADIs Online Processing Centre. 

Materials package will include the digital products recently launched:

  • Rescue Diver Touch
  • Freediver Touch

Value: Over AU$220.00

 Participation Fee:            Course Directors and IDC Staff Instructors – AU$ 275.-- (+GST in Australia) 

NB: Course Director Frequent Trainer Programme Platinum, Gold and Silver discounts apply. Please refer to The Undersea Journal for your Frequent Trainer Status.

The particpation fee includes: materials package as above as well as refreshments and lunch.

Each participant must bring: appropriate exposure protection, mask, snorkel, fins and Confined Water and Open Water Evaluation Slates & pencil. 

Please note that we reserve the right to cancel the event if there are less than 10 particpants.

PADI Asia Pacific Instructor Development
As part of PADI’s efforts to grow and support the diving industry in China, 8 Candidates gathered at the Olympic Yacht Club, Qingdao, China from 18-20 July, 2014 for the very first PADI Instructor Exam to be held in the city. Well tutored by PADI Course Directors, Eric Law and Atsumi Nitta, all students successfully completed the exam to become PADI Instructors. The event was hosted by PADI Dive Centre, Qingdao Honour-Blue Dive Club.
