Dear friends and colleagues,

We are pleased to announce our upcoming CPD talk, "Let's Talk About Contraception".

Contraception is a vital component in voluntary family planning and has a ripple effect in the macro-view of global health and development. In the Millennium Development Goals (MDG) Report 2015, the use of contraception is reported to contribute in the reduction of the number of unintended pregnancies, unsafe abortions and maternal deaths. Thus, contraception is not merely a means of family planning but in fact, a matter of life or death. So, “Let’s talk about Contraception”, the dos the don’ts, the whys and the hows.

Our speaker is Ms Vanessa Liang LuWen, Obstetrics & Gynaecology pharmacist from Hospital Kuala Lumpur. Vanessa obtained her MPharm degree from the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow in 2007 and later attained her Masters in Clinical Pharmacy from the National University of Malaysia in 2014. Vanessa began her career in pharmacy as a provisionally registered pharmacist in Hospital Queen Elizabeth, Sabah. She then worked at Hospital Kota Marudu from 2008-2011, and later at the Hospital Wanita & Kanak-Kanak Sabah from 2011-2015. However at present, Vanessa heads the O&G Pharmacy Unit in Hospital Kuala Lumpur.
