Harith Iskander hails Sabahan Mad Sabah as a unique comedian

Kota Kinabalu: Malaysia's renowned standup comedian Harith Iskander has hailed a Sabahan, Mad Sabah, as a unique counterpart. Harith described Mad Sabah as such during a recent press conference at Dewan Filharmonik Petronas in Kuala Lumpur.
“How to be like me? It won't happen because a while ago, there was only me apart from Douglas Lim, Kavin J and many more as at the time, only one person would do a stand-up comedy,” he was quoted as saying. “I use Mad Sabah as an example. He's the only Mad Sabah. Nobody will replace him unless a comedian from a small Sarawak village comes along.
“I've seen many YouTube-born comedians ‘destroyed’ while making a live show. They're funny on YouTube because the videos are edited.”On the other hand, some unfunny YouTube comedians are funny live because the audience gives them energy, added Harith. “Especially when I started the Joke Factory, I tried to encourage some funny YouTube and TikTok practitioners. I taught them how to convert their material to a live show,” he reportedly said.
